A partnership between FireFlies Play Environments and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, a tribute was developed to evoke an original Minneapolis Aquatennial event. Originating in 1940 the “Aqua Darlings” and “Aqua Dears” entertained and swam.
There were Olympic Divers, comedians, acrobats, singers, dancers and even Esther Williams. The Aqua Follies is a source of fond memories for many and lives on in this historically referenced play structure.
